The #100DayofHappiness Challenge

As most of my readers know by now, a close friend of mine and a fellow member of the North Iowa Bloggers grew her angel wings WAY too early! Amy of Modern Rural Living was a light in our group, challenged everyone, and supported and cheered on everyone! We all learned from Amy (read about what I learned from Amy here)!

Amy had started the Instagram challenge of #100DaysofHappiness…a picture of something that made her happy every day for 100 Days. Amy didn’t get through her 100 Days and the day after she died, I vowed to take that challenge over for her and complete it!  I’m only about 2 weeks in and it’s already proven to be an actual challenge!  While I have always considered myself a rather upbeat and positive person (my brother would even tell you, to an annoying level of positivity), but Amy’s outlook on life made mine look dull!  I’ve truly never met someone who had the outlook on life

Some of my most recent challenge pictures: the ability to wear flats, melting snow, my Pup Nike, and beautiful weather to run outside in!

and positivity that Amy did.  By taking on Amy’s challenge, I’ve already (in 2 short weeks) stretched myself to truly find the happiness in my life.  Be it big or small, we must never forget that good and happiness is around us every day and no matter how we struggle, there is GOOD in the world.

Isn’t it just like Amy to still be challenging me to step outside my comfort zone and become not only a better blogger, but a better person?!  I WILL finish my #100DaysofHappiness!  I will do it to not only honor Amy, but because I know it will make me a better person!  Realizing that little things can make me a better person and to find the good in everything is something that Amy taught me and that is part of #AmysGift that keeps on giving!

  1. I think the longer you do this the easier it becomes to find those little things every day that make you happy. I find that it just makes me open my eyes a little wider and see what there is that I have been missing. You are doing a great job of carrying on the happies for our sweet Amy.
