Natural Plus Nursey & A $100 Giveaway

Myself and 6 other North Iowa Bloggers visited fellow blogger Mary at her home and business, Natural Plus Nursery, yesterday! What a special treat we got!! Natural Plus Nursery is located between Clear Lake and Mason City just off Highway 122. It’s a great location nestled amongst the trees and nature! We were lucky enough to visit the grounds and Nursery a week before their grand opening for the season.  I was greeted by Mary and her canine pal, Maggie, who seemed to take to anyone who would show her a little love!

#TastyTuesday – A #BeesMeetup with the #NorthIowaBloggers!

I LOVE when I get together with the #NorthIowaBloggers! Everytime we get together, attend a function, or plan something it’s always a different conglomeration of people and it’s always a good time!  This past Monday was no different.  Thanks to Val of Corn, Beans, Pigs, & Kids (even though she ended up not being able to make it) a group of us gathered at the Mason City, Iowa Applebee’s location for a #BeesMeetup.  We warned Applebees via social media that we were coming for them and boy were they ready for us.  They were ready not only on their social media platforms, but also the staff at the restaurant was ready for us!  Thankfully (not sure if it was for us or them) we had an inside hook-up with Loni of Lifestyles of the Pantsless.  Loni is a part-time waitress at Applebees and warned prepped the staff for our arrival.  The manager of the Mason City location was also kind enough to treat us to 9

different types of appetizers from their menu!  (Yes, there is only a few more and by ordering we ended up tasting every single one of them!)  The staff was attentive, efficient, courteous, and very tolerable of our group with our chit chat, Tweeting, Facebooking, Instagramming, and requests for pictures!

North Iowa Blogger’s Try a Piece of Pizza Pie…or Several Pieces

8 months ago I attended my first North Iowa Blogger get-together. It was a chip tasting party for Lay’s Do Us A Flavor challenge and met this amazing group of woman. (Read about that experience HERE)  Last week we got together for a Pizza Taste Off party!  It all started with Beth Ann of It’s Just Life mentioning that she had never had Casey’s General Store’s pizza.  Between Twitter and our thoughts…well, the rest is now history!

The #100DayofHappiness Challenge

As most of my readers know by now, a close friend of mine and a fellow member of the North Iowa Bloggers grew her angel wings WAY too early! Amy of Modern Rural Living was a light in our group, challenged everyone, and supported and cheered on everyone! We all learned from Amy (read about what I learned from Amy here)!

Disclosure:  I’m sorry this is a bit delayed getting going, but as you read on, I think you will understand why. 

Before stepping into this month’s Cause, let’s recap February!  February was Library Lover’s Month.  As I’ve gotten to know more about the Sheffield Public Library I was excited to show my appreciation for libraries in general, but especially to the ladies at this library for (what I think) is a fantastic job they do with their programming considering the size of their library and town!  I’m happy to report that due to your commenting, I have presented the library with a check for $23.00 (50 cents for each comment made).  They will be using this to go towards their Summer Reading Program!

This month, my cause is the Amy Elizabeth Hild Memorial Fund and to be honest, I can’t believe I’m typing that!  On February 25th, the fellow #NorthIowaBlogger was killed in a tragic car accident.  She is greatly missed, but was such an amazing person that a Memorial Fund has been set up in her memory to do amazing things with.  (You can read more about her HERE)  For every comment that is made on my blog this month, I will donate 50 cents to the Amy’s Memorial Fund.  So, please comment like you’ve never commented before!
