#TastyTuesday – Meal Planning – Smothered Ribeye Steak

Last weekend on Sunday I was feeling adventurous. I wanted to try my hand at a few things and test some things out. I had thawed out some ribeye steaks and bought baby red potatoes at the store because those are a favorite of T’s. My goal was to recreate a summer-time meal of steak and roasted potatoes. I looked through my recipe box and decided to combine a couple different things to come up with a marinade of sorts for the steak.  Here is what I came up with!

#FitFriday – SparkPeople’s Total Body Sculpt

I received a #RealisticResolution package for the purposes of reviewing.  All thoughts & opinions are my own and 100% honest.

0108151742Thanks to my awesome #RealisticResolution package from Gorton’s Seafood & SparkPeople, I received the DVD from SparkPeople “Total Body Sculpt”.

I’m usually very leary of workout DVD’s because I either feel like they don’t give me the results that I would like or require much more coordination than I have (I’m very uncoordinated and that’s why I stick to running and lifting weights with some elliptical thrown in every once in awhile.)

Share Your World 2015, Week 1

It’s a new year, but I’m so glad to see that Cee of Cee’s Photography is continuing her Share Your World series! It’s another great week of questions and getting to know each other! So without further ado, here is the first week of Share Your World 2015.

How do you get rid of pesky phone calls from telemarketers? Well, to be honest I don’t have to deal with them very often because we don’t have a home phone and that helps a lot.  A funny story about my teenage years though…when I was 16 my parents divorced and I lived with my mom after that.  We often got phone calls asking for “the man of the house” or Mr…. I would turn on my acting skills with some “sobs” and tell them that my parents divorced and I was struggling to get through the days…I usually never heard from them ever again!

What are you a “natural” at doing? This is so sad, but I don’t think I’m a natual at anything.  I even asked T and the only thing he could come up with was eating!  Gee, thanks dear!  Not much has come easy to me in life, but I’ve learned to bust my butt at anything that I put my mind to to be successful.

How often do you get a haircut? Traditionally in the last 10 years or so I’ve gotten my haircut every 5-6 weeks.  I would love to continue that now, but life doesn’t work that easy anymore.  It typically happens every 6-8 weeks now.

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “fun”?  A road trip with T.  Road trips with him are my favorite “things” to do.  We have time to just talk…not distracted by devices, laundry, the dog, kids, and responsibilities.  We laugh a lot together and find our core connection every time we go on a roadtrip.

Bonus Question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? This week is relatively quiet (in terms of my life) with only one basektball game and that’s it!  That is the greatest thing about this coming week.  I’m grateful for the time with R & his girlfriend last week.  It’s great to connect with each kid individually!
